CTO (Chief Technology Officer)

Overview

The CTO is responsible for providing the technology vision and leadership in the developement and implementation of IT initiatives that support the company’s business objectives. In a highly dynamic marketplace, in which the pace of change and innovation is ceasless, the CTO  has emerged as a key role within any enterprise. Having originated in the USA, the CTO has spread throughout the world. The demand for these senior business focused technologists, particularly by the emerging dot-com startups, has created a shortage of CTO’s. We consequently have a continuous need for candidates who are ready to take the next career step to the role of CTO.

General Responsibilities

  • Architect the master plan for the company’s technology to support and enhance the comapany’s technology ininitiatives, in particular Internet, E-business and e-Commerce related initiatives including the development of Web portals
  • Ensure that the technology strategy is represented at the highest level within the company
  • Establish and manage strategic relationships with key IT supopliers and consultants.
  • Conduct allinace partnership negotiations and contract evaluations.  
  • Requirements

  • Extensive IT management experience with expericence in the use of Internet technology, preferably gained with an Internet or e-commerce n  organisation.
  • Ability to conceptualise, launch and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrable ability to use the benefis of IT to solve business issues while also managing costs and risk.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate new technological developements and assess their appropriatenss for business
  • Ability to articulate IT vision and IT concepts at the highest levels and to understand the needs of partners, vendors and clients.
