Overview

The emergence of the Internet, E-Business, Net Markets and the need to develop collaborative systems that extend beyond the enterprise has created many career opportunities for Security professionals with both consulting and end user organisations. The consultancies in particular are seeking to strengthen their Security Architecture practices which play a crucial part in the delivery of complex, distributed, advanced  E-Business infrastructures. 

General Responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of Internet, e-Business and network security architectures
  • Evaluation of Internet security and security risk management
  • Advising on the design choices associated with security controls, security management and integration with existing IT security mechanisms
  • Planning and management of Security projects in specialist areas including PKI, secure systems design and Web security technologies
  • Development of security programmes, standards and processes; evaluation and development of Policy & Standards
  • Provide thought leadership on security issues
  • Provide support to business development (for consultancy roles) 
  • Experience Indicators

    We have ongoing requirements for Security professionals with demonstrable experience gained in the design of secure environments for E-Business solutions including:

  • Knowledge of network, Internet and Intranet Security (including firewall design)
  • Knowledge of LDAP, Active Directory, Kerberos & Proxy Server
  • Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) architectures, authentication, digital certificates & digital signatures
  • Knowledge of Internet Gateway Security functions
  • Security review experience based on technologies such as UNIX, NT, firewalls,
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Security Management tools, security assessment software (such as Bindview, ESM), Internet/Intranet security  review experience (based on technologies such as UNIX, NT and firewalls) and penetration testing; and knowledge of intrusion detection systems (such as Axent, ISS).
  • Knowledge of  networking technology (including hubs, routers, firewalls, Web servers)
  • Security architecture design experience and knowledge of enterprise security architectures and solutions with experience in complex distributed environments such as TCP/IP and VPN’s. 
  • Expertise in security solutions relating to one or more of: Billing, CRM, Customer Care and CTI.
  • Expertise in the definition, evaluation and implementation of cryptographic solutions in the distributed environment.
  • Project management experience and knowledge of formal risk management methods such as CRAMM can be advantageous
